Hello, I’m Brian Prichard, owner and operator of Stripers Inc. and I will be your guide on your next fishing adventure. Being born and raised on Lake Texoma, I have been a fisherman my entire life. I’ve been reeling in striper ever since I could hold a rod in my hands. My dad has had a boat slip on Lake Texoma my entire life. He started training me to fish from the time I could walk. My first rod was a stick with a line and a cork tied to the end that I could slap on the water. Fishing soon became my daycare. During the summers my parents would drop me off at Lake Texoma to fish all day until they get off of work. I can remember watching in awe as the striper guides came in off the lake with their coolers full of stripers and thinking that’s what I want to do when I grow up. My dad had a pontoon boat that we used to chase down the striper and by 15, he started letting me take it out by myself. I loved fishing for the big stripers and I would go out every chance I got. One day I noticed an ad in the paper for a striper guide for Silver Dollar. I knew that I had to have that job. I called the owner every day pleading for a chance until he finally agreed to give me a shot. At age 17 I had landed my dream job and I’ve been taking trips out ever since.
After graduating from Denison High School I could not bare the thought of departing from the fish that I had yet to catch and giving up my job as a striper guide. I decided to attend Austin College where I got the best of 3 worlds, I kept my job as a striper guide, one of the best educations in the state, and a chance to play college football. After my freshmen year, Silver Dollar began to focus on building air boats and got out of the guide business which left me without a job. The thought of getting a real job was unimaginable. I started harassing Tinker’s Striper Guide Service for a job as a striper guide and after months and months of harassment they finally conceded and I was back in the saddle.
Upon graduating from Austin College, the money that I was making at Tinkers was not what I had envisioned for myself with a degree in hand, so I decided to try to use my degree since I had worked so hard to get it. I quit my job as a striper guide and for the first time, I got a "real" job in management for McCoy’s Lumber Supply. After a year of working for McCoy’s I decided that I was not cut out for management with the salary and long hours. I realized that I could not escape Lake Texoma as it now ran through my veins. I returned to my lake to create my own Lake Texoma fishing guide service, “Stripers Inc. The Lake Texoma Striper Fishing Experience”, and I vow to give you the best fishing experience possible.
I am looking forward to fishing with you,
Brian Prichard
