Use year round, reel fast in summer and slow in the winter.

Slab: 1 1/2oz chartreuse slab is a good standby.
Use in spring, summer, and fall. In the summer drop the slab to the bottom and reel as fast as possible back to the surface. In cooler water, use long hard jigs off of the bottom.
